Connecting to Opera Visual FoxPro on a machine where Opera is not installed will require the data path to be entered manually (Step 2 below).
This location can usually be found on \\[ServerName]\Server VFP Dynamic\Data\[companyReference].dbc
e.g. \\DBServer\Server VFP Dynamic\Data\Orion.dbc

Please follow steps below to configure your Opera company to the Open Accounting Connector application.

Now that the application is installed please double click the Open Accounting Connector desktop shortcut. If not automatically detected, please select Opera VFP from list of accounting packages and click 'Next'. Please select your company from drop-down list or enter the company database (.dbc file) manually in the directory field. Then click 'Test Connection'. The connection would successful if all credentials are correct and will prompt which is incorrect. Now click Finish and Extract to submit your first data load!

If after clicking the Test Connection button an error message appears it is most likely that one (or more) of the credentials entered are incorrect. Below are a few examples of the typical errors and how to handle them:

• No data found:
  
  This error means the Open Accounting Connector application can't access the database. This could be down to two reasons, either:
  • The PC/Server where the database lies on is offline (off network or turned off) or the network user doesn't have rights the database location. Please check by accessing the folder in Windows Explorer.
    To check by copying the directory field in the Open Accounting Connector configuration. (See Step 2 above or via File > Configurations > Accounting Package.).
    Paste this directory in Windows Explorer (Launch via Windows Key + E).
  • Wrong driver is in use, please select any driver with the following key words in the name
    Visual FoxPro, FoxPro, VFP


• Cannot open file:

  This error will only appear if the directory of your Opera Company was manually entered in. If available please use the Company drop down box to locate your company. If your company cannot be found and this error persists please select the dbc file extention in your company database location. This location can usually be found on \\[ServerName]\Server VFP Dynamic\Data\[companyReference].dbc
