This connection is for both the Pervasive and Microsoft SQL Server editions of Exchequer. For the Open Accounting Connector application to connect to your Company Database, the application will have to use Exchequer's inbuilt COM Toolkit (SDK). As a result, the Open Accounting Connector relies on Exchequer to be installed on the PC/Server and the COM Toolkit to be licenced.
For Pervasive versions, Pervasive must also be licenced on the PC/Server.
For SQL Server versions, a different direct connection to the Database is available (please see Exchequer SQL page).

Please follow steps below to configure your Exchequer company to the Open Accounting Connector application.

Now that the application is installed please double click the Open Accounting Connector desktop shortcut. Please click 'Exchequer' only. Now select your company from the list provided and click 'Test Connection'. Please see the advanced section to locate companys if not found. The connection would successful if the Exchequer COM Toolkit is licenced and so is Pervasive (if Pervasive Edition). Now click Finish and Extract to submit your first data load!

If in Step 3 above you cannot find your Company, please open Exchequer and copy the "Path" column for your company and paste into the Open Accounting Connector applications 'Directory' field.

Your Open Accounting Connector application may be setup to retrieve data automatically at a predefined schedule, this functionality relies to be logged on at the scheduled time. Due to the nature of Servers, it may rarely be logged into. So if the Open Accounting Connector application is installed on a Server, extractions may not always perform automatically. To enable this feature a task scheduler would have to be created.
To create a task scheduler please go to the installation path of Open Accounting Connector, usually held in C:\Open Accounting Connector_xxx\ Open the taskSchedule.bat file and follow the instructions.

If after clicking the Test Connection button an error message appears please check that Exchequer is installed, the Exchequer COM Toolkit is licenced and Pervasive is licenced (for Pervasive Editions only). Please contact AdvancedComputerSoftware if you are experiencing licencing issues. Below are a few examples of the typical errors and how to handle them:
